Common questions from law firms
Structurally better than any cloud: in the free offline mode, recordings, transcripts and AI output are processed entirely on your device. No external service provider ever touches privileged content, so there is no vendor review for core operation. Optional sync (Bygmind Cloud, your own Nextcloud or S3) is your deliberate decision and should be assessed as such.
Only with the consent of everyone involved. Recording confidential spoken conversations without consent is illegal in many jurisdictions (in Germany under section 201 of the criminal code; US states vary between one-party and all-party consent). In practice: obtain and document consent. For dictation and your own voice notes after the meeting the question does not arise, you are only recording yourself.
In offline mode, processing happens on your device under your control as the controller. There is no transfer to third parties, no processor relationship and no US transfer question. That reduces your privacy documentation to the essentials.
No. Locally processed content never leaves your device and is simply not available for training. If you connect your own cloud model via API key, the training terms of your contract with that model provider apply, not ours.
Transcription uses a modern speech recognition model that copes well with technical vocabulary. Best to verify yourself: download the app, dictate a paragraph from a pleading, inspect the result. The test costs nothing and needs no account.
Offline mode with recording, transcription, speaker separation and the local AI model is free, without an account and without seat licenses. Premium features arrive as an optional upgrade.
