Team platform or your device
Fireflies is built as a shared knowledge platform for teams: every meeting lands searchable in the cloud and flows into the CRM automatically. That is strong for sales organizations. Bygmind is built as a personal tool: your recordings live on your device, and you decide what to share. Sync via Bygmind Cloud, your own Nextcloud or S3 is opt-in.
Where processing happens
According to its trust center, Fireflies works with subprocessors in the US (transcription, language model, database and compute) and requires AI vendors to apply strict zero-day retention. Private Storage for data residency exists on the Enterprise plan only. The no-training commitment is real progress, but it does not change the transfer path. Bygmind processes on the device, so core operation involves no transfer at all.
Online meeting or real world
Fireflies is built around the video call and the CRM workflow that follows. Bygmind is built around the conversation itself, wherever it happens: in the meeting room, on the job site, in a basement with no signal. Recording, transcript, speaker separation and summary work fully offline.
Common questions about Fireflies.ai and Bygmind
According to its trust center, no: Fireflies does not train AI models on customer data and requires strict zero-day retention from its AI vendors. With Bygmind the question never arises for locally processed content: it does not leave your device.
Partly: the mobile app stores offline recordings locally, and transcription only runs after upload once you are connected. Bygmind transcribes and summarizes on the device itself, so results are ready immediately even without a connection.
