Team platform or your device
Fireflies is built as a shared knowledge platform for teams: every meeting lands searchable in the cloud and flows into the CRM automatically. That is strong for sales organizations. Bygmind is built as a personal tool: your recordings live on your device, and you decide what to share. Sync via Bygmind Cloud, your own Nextcloud or S3 is opt-in.
Where processing happens
Fireflies processes in the United States, and even with the Enterprise EU storage option, processing stays there. The no-training commitment since March 2026 is real progress, but it does not change the transfer path. Bygmind processes on the device, so core operation involves no transfer at all.
Online meeting or real world
Fireflies is built around the video call and the CRM workflow that follows. Bygmind is built around the conversation itself, wherever it happens: in the meeting room, on the job site, in a basement with no signal. Recording, transcript, speaker separation and summary work fully offline.
Common questions about Fireflies.ai and Bygmind
Fireflies is SOC 2 Type II audited, positions itself as GDPR compliant, and since March 2026 has an explicit no-training commitment in its privacy policy. Processing runs on US servers, however; EU data storage exists only on the Enterprise plan, and even then processing stays in the US. Strict requirements call for a proper review. Bygmind processes on your device by default, which removes the transfer question for core operation.
According to the privacy policy from March 2026, no: Fireflies does not use personal information for AI training and contractually prohibits its vendors from doing so. With Bygmind the question never arises for locally processed content: it does not leave your device.
Not anymore, strictly speaking. The default is the meeting bot that joins your call; since late 2025 there is also botless recording through the desktop app (from the Pro plan). Either way, processing happens in the cloud. Bygmind records through your phone microphone, no bot and no mandatory upload.
You can record on site with the mobile app, but transcription and AI only run once the recording is uploaded to the cloud. Bygmind transcribes and summarizes on the device itself, so results are ready immediately even without a connection.
