Jamie is probably the most consistent EU cloud notetaker: botless recording, storage in Frankfurt, processing in the EEA, Switzerland and the UK per Jamie, audio deleted after transcription, and training on user data explicitly ruled out. If you want a cloud solution with a European understanding of privacy, this is one of the best. Bygmind answers the same question one step more radically: processing never happens on third-party servers in the first place, but on your iOS or Android device, fully usable offline and extensible with your own model. The three differences that actually matter
A trustworthy cloud, or no cloud
Jamie solves the privacy problem organizationally: a German company, EU servers, deletion policies, clear contracts, no training. That is well done and exactly right for many teams, even though the model providers behind the AI notes (Anthropic or OpenAI) and the transcription provider still deserve their own bit of scrutiny. Bygmind solves it architecturally: processing happens on your device, so there is simply no server you have to trust. Sync via Bygmind Cloud, your own Nextcloud or S3 stays opt-in.
Offline is more than a record button
Jamie processes transcript and summary in its EU cloud; an offline mode is not documented. Bygmind delivers the complete result offline: transcript, speaker separation and summary are produced in the basement, on the plane and in the dead zone, not afterwards.

In detail: storage in Germany, processing per its own claims in the EEA plus Switzerland and the UK (the UK is not an EU/EEA member, despite its EU adequacy decision), audio deletion after transcription, ISO 27001 (per Jamie) and an explicit no-training commitment. Unlike purely US-based vendors, Jamie itself is a German company, which meaningfully eases the jurisdiction question for the contracting party.
