Delete data without deleting your account
This page applies to the Bygmind Mobile App and bygmind.com. It explains how to delete individual items without removing your whole account.
1. What you can delete selectively
In Bygmind, you can delete the following items individually:
- Individual projects or site visits
- Individual voice notes and audio recordings
- Individual photos, videos and documents
- Individual reports and transcripts
- AI-generated content tied to specific projects
2. Deletion inside the app
The path depends on what you want to delete:
Delete a project
- Open the project list.
- Swipe a project sideways to reveal the Delete action, or open the project and tap the menu (⋮) in the top right → Delete.
- Confirm by tapping Delete in the dialog.
Delete generated documents / reports
- Open the project and switch to the Actions tab.
- Tap the document's menu and choose Delete.
- Confirm in the dialog.
Confirmed deletions take effect immediately. There is no in-app trash for restoring items, so back up anything you want to keep beforehand.
3. Request deletion by email
If you prefer to request deletion in writing, send us an email with the subject "Data deletion" to:
Please tell us:
- The email address associated with your account
- Which items you want deleted (e.g. "Project XY", "all voice notes before date Z")
- Optional: identifiers or references that help us locate the items
We will confirm receipt of your request and complete the deletion typically within 30 days. For security reasons, we verify requests against the email address on file for your account.
4. What happens during selective deletion
- The selected items are removed from your active account.
- Data in routine backups is automatically overwritten as part of our backup rotation.
- Items you previously exported or saved locally remain on your device unchanged. You can only delete those local copies yourself.
5. Exceptions and legal retention
In some cases we may not be able to fully delete certain data immediately — for example when it is tied to statutory retention obligations (e.g. invoices, tax records) or to active security and abuse investigations. Such data is kept solely for these purposes and deleted once the applicable retention period expires.
